The untold truth about six-figure blogging

by Rob Rammuny on October 26, 2009 · 31 comments

I continue to read hundreds and thousands of articles teaching people how to be a six-figure blogger. Now about 99% of the articles I read about making money online all leave out the most important factors of being a six-figure blogger. Developing a six figure mindset! A couple days ago I was having a conversation with a friend of mine Robb Sutton about what many bloggers lack when it comes to six-figure blogging. Through out our conversation I found to see that both Robb and I are firm believers that it’s all about the mindset.

You need to develop a six-figure mindset in order to have a six figure blog

One of the secrets to a six-figure blog is having a six-figure mindset. You have to believe in yourself that you have the ability to be successful. If keep thinking “I hope one day I will become the next Darren Rowse” that’s all you’ll be. Another fish in the sea dreaming one day to make it big in the blogging world. Instead…you need to be thinking more like “I know I’m going to become bigger than Darren Rowse” that’s the mindset to have!

If you really want to make it big and start making money online, you need to get any thoughts in your head that are telling you that you can’t do it and eliminate them. Because honestly, that’s just bullshit. I’ve consulted with thousands of people and I’ve not met one person who does not have the potential to be the next six-figure blogger.

Forming the six-figure mindset

OK now it’s time to form you’re six-figure mindset. I’m going to show you a simple exercise I use all the time, which helps me a lot.

Materials needed

  • Pencil or pen
  • 2 pieces of paper
  • 10-15 minutes of your time
  • Quiet environment

Steps to take

  • Write down all negative and un-motivational thoughts you have on a piece of paper (Ex: I hope I will be a six-figure blogger)
  • Take a pen/pencil and cross them out
  • Write down all positive thoughts (Ex: I will be a six-figure blogger)
  • Repeat step #3
  • Throw away your paper with the un-motivational thoughts
  • Read out-loud your thoughts from step #3

This should become a daily routine for you until you eliminate any thoughts that aren’t going to help you become a six-figure blogger.

I also suggest checking out Robb Sutton’s post “I am the only one that stands in the way

Is six-figure blogging still possible for newbie bloggers?

Six-figuring blogging is still possible, however…not everyone is going to achieve the success of being a six-figure blogger. Don’t let this put you down, it’s all about developing the problogging mindset and taking the right steps to becoming a six-figure blogger.

Interesting exercise. However, you can talk to yourself all day and never get a step closure to having that big paycheck. The reason? Lack of action! You have to produce something to be productive, and you have to do it better than the majority of other people in at least one respect.

Awesome post! A few minor writing errors ;) but the message is clear!

Thanks for the link! You are 100% correct…all starts with the way you think. Without the right mindset…you are just spinning your wheels.

It’s really hard for anyone, not just newbies to become a six figure blogger but I think with proper mindset and dedication it can be feasible and attainable. But as you’ve said, there would be a small chance, but still there’s still a chance w/c is better than none at all.

Hey Rob,

You are truely right here.

Not everyone will become a six-figure blogger. Even those who work as hard as they possibly can. Its all about the mindset you have. It you have the mindset of someone who believes they have no boundries, then most in likely you will break all yoyur barriers.

Thanks again for the wonderful motivation!

God bless,
William Veasley
