The reason why your blog SUCKS

Your blog sucks

Thousands of blogs fail because there content is irrelevant, sloppy or just not reader wanted. It’s time to end this nasty cycle and make your content king.

Harsh title huh? Well I needed something to really draw your attention because this is an important subject. I wrote a article previously on Robswebtips called “Is your content selling” and it covered how many people fail to make money through there blog because there content is not “king”

Your still probably wondering why I said your blog sucks? The reason many blogs and possibly yours suck is because they fail to create quality content.

A quality blog is built from quality content

Any professional blogger will tell you that content is king. And without it your blog has no chance of succeeding. When people click your blog or find your articles through a link back from someones site there not clicking it so they can leave your website two seconds later… They’re clicking it because they’re expecting a nice quality article.

Take a second and compare – Compare a successful blog like Darren Rowse from Problogger and compare it to a blog that is not that popular and has been around for a couple years. If you do this correctly you will realize the difference that Darren’s website offers quality information and the other blog offers nothing but crap.

I once read a article about content and it taught me a really good breakdown “The three C’s” Clear – Concise – Compelling” these are the three basic steps needed to build a quality written article.

Ask yourself…

Is your content relevant or irrelevant? Is your content clear, concise and compelling? Do you get to the point clearly without confusing your readers? Are you fluent with your writing? Does it flow smoothly? Better yet rate your own content honestly. After you written your post sit down and read it. Ask yourself, does this make sense? If I were a newbie to this subject and known NOTHING about it would this article be informative to me? If you really want to do good go out on the edge and Google your related articles. Compare your information to others. What do they offer that you don’t? What do you offer that they don’t? What can you do to make your article become unique and make people say “This is one hell of a good article”

This is a great practice to do as it will dramatically increase your value in your articles.

What do you think?

I want to get my readers and just other bloggers and writers into this debate. Do you agree that the reason that blogs fail is because there content is not quality? Do you just beleive that articles in generally blatantly suck because they’re irrelevant rather than relevant? Let me know.

Im sure many of you are like me and one of the first things you do in the morning is head here and check out the new post. Along with seeing the new posts, I’m also always checking out the blog roll rss feed and watching them grow, or shrink sometimes. In one of my past …but all in all excellent site. Keep it up!

Just wanted to drop you a line to say, I enjoy reading your site. I thought about starting a blog myself but don’t have the time.
Oh well maybe one day…. :)
