Interview with Jean, founder of Wprecipes.com

Today I’m very much excited to share this interview with you. I’m interviewing Jean Jung, founder of Wprecipes.com Jean runs a very successful wordpress site where he offers daily wordpress recipes to help you out. He also manages many other sites such as, Catswhocode , he also writes for some of the big name blogs such as; Smashing Magainze, Problog design and Wphacks.

Jean-Baptiste Jung, is a young blogger who has done many things with his career.

So let’s start this interview, shall we?

Hey Jean, glad to be doing this Interview with you today. To start off this Interview, mind telling us a little about yourself?

I’m Jean, I’m a 27 years old married guy living on the French-speaking part of Belgium. I love WordPress and Web Development and run the blogs www.catswhocode.com, wprecipes.com and psdrecipes.com.
I also love animals very much and I’m a part of the Animal Rights Movement.

Tell us about your main project, WPRecipes? Why did you launch WPRecipes, where are you at now with WPRecipes?

WpRecipes isn’t really my main project. My first profesionnal blog was cats Who Code, I started WpRecipes 6 months after. But I like both of them equally. I started this project because the WordPress community highly needed a site where small , simple and effective code snippets were published. I added a cool cat mascot, called the snippets recipes, and the projects was an instant “success”.

What should tutorial website owners be doing right now to help stand out from the crowd?

My advice would be “Find a 100% original concept” like I did with WpRecipes. And write quality stuff. Quality is the biggest part of success.

You are author of the book “WordPress 2.7 cookbook” mind telling us about your book?

It is labelled “2.7″ but it works with 2.8 as well. It contains more than 100 recipes to do everything with your WordPress blog. You can buy it from Amazon here: http://bit.ly/12CQbj

What advice can you offer to those wanting to become a blogger?

Work!! Seriously, people who wants to create a great blog must work a lot, with passion and patience. All will come to people who don’t fear working a lot.

Is there anyone that you model yourself on?

Yes, I have a few mentors and models. One of the people who influenced me is Kyle Eslick from http://wphacks.com. He was – and still is – a source of inspiration for making money by producing quality content over some blogs.

What do you like most about the Internet?

The fact that everyone can succeed on the Internet.. You have to work, but that is the only key to success. There’s no discriminatory factors as such as skin color, language, religion, diplomas, etc. Work is the only factor of success on the internet, and that is great.

What do you like least about the Internet?

The Internet have a few bad points, but really they are nothing comparated to all its good points.

With various different blogging platforms (WordPress, Drupal, Joomla Blogger Etc..) why do you suggest WordPress?

because of the simplicity, the power and the community. I have tried lots of different platform, most are great, but not as cool as WordPress is.

Have you any plans (personal or business) that you can share with us about your future plans/goals?

I have lots of plans, as ever. For now, my main goal is to successively create my “Expert WordPress Customization” service, where I will help WordPress users to achieve their goals. The site isn’t finished yet, but you can visit http://codingkitty.com to find out.
Also, if any of you need help with your WordPress blog, feel free to contact me, I’ll be happy to help you for a reasonable price.

OK thanks Jean for taking the time for doing this Interview with us. Would you like to say anything else to the readers of this Interview?

Thank you for considering interviewing me, it is flattering. Hehe.

Another motivating interview!

“The fact that everyone can succeed on the Internet.. You have to work, but that is the only key to success. There’s no discriminatory factors as such as skin color, language, religion, diplomas, etc. Work is the only factor of success on the internet, and that is great.”

I never thought about that before but it’s true it doesn’t matter who you are or where you are the Internet has huge possibilities.
