5 reasons why the Internet life style is the way to go

by Rob Rammuny on September 24, 2009 · 38 comments

I‘ve been working online for quite sometime now. Honestly, working online has been a great experience for me. Traveling to conferences, being my own boss, meeting tons of new people and much more.

Five reasons why the Internet Lifestyle is the way to go

Freedom

If you worked at a job you will know you have rules you have to follow.

  • Be at work at 9:00AM to 5:00PM
  • Report to your boss everyday after work
  • Work certain days

I bet those rules can get a bit tiring at times can’t they? I know they did for me. Also, for some of us we encounter those bosses who act like our job is are only obligation, so when a time comes when you need to take a day off, they don’t care what the reason is they want you to work.

Working online, that is all avoided because remember you are your own boss!

Do what you want, when you want, when ever you want!

When you work online you manage your own schedule. You can do what ever you want, for how ever long you want. That’s the good life aye?  We all have those days when we feel like doing absolutely nothing, when you work online you can have those days and get away with it.

Financial freedom

Honestly, I think this is one of my favorite reasons to working online. I would hate coming home every week with the exact same paycheck, it became very irritating for me. Now, my paychecks increase every week because I control how much I make and nobody else. When you work online, you don’t have to wait every other week to receive your paycheck, that’s dumb. You get your cash right away.

You are your own boss

Boss: Clean this, and do that. Your not doing that right, do it again!
Me: *Thinking* I am about to slap this guy upside his head..

Yes, I have had those thoughts at times., and I’m sure some of you have to. Wouldn’t it be nice just to be free from all this? I know I am, I am my own boss and I decide whether the work I do is good or bad. (Unless I’m working with a client)

When you work online, you have the ability to be your own boss and make your own rules. So instead of ending up fired for slapping your boss, be your own!

Hire people to work for you

This is another wonderful part of working online, people work for you! I’ve set my business up where I do barely anything. I have a graphic design team, web development team and others who help me out with other stuff.
This puts less work on me, and allows me to be even more free with what I do with my time.

What’s yours?

Don’t exclude yourself from this post. Tell us why you think the Internet life style is the way to go, or maybe you disagree. Let us hear your opinion!

Great post Rob!

“Financial freedom” = #1 in my opinion. Everyone deserves the right to make a good living online but only some will try and even less believe they will make money. Also with so many fake products about making money online most people won’t believe it’s even possible to make money online.

I agree! Yea, It sucks to see so many scams out there. It’s hard to differ the fake from the real.

Great post.
Be at work at 9:00AM to 5:00PM
Report to your boss everyday after work
Work certain days
That’s why I don’t like working for anyone.
I want to do what I want when I want to do it!

And you’re just 15? I’m impressed! I wish I could say I make a full living online, but I haven’t gotten that far yet. :-) Of course, it might help if that’s what I was actually striving for. Right now I’m just working part time to make a little “extra” to add to what my husband brings in, and yes, he works online, full time. :-)

Enjoyed the post and will share it with others! (found you via problogger’s community!)

Taken a lot of hard work and determination. But that’s what happens when you put your mind to it!

That’s great to see you are helping with your husband, I’m sure he is grateful to have your extra help.

This is definitely the latest buzz in the internet marketing world – dot com lifestyle.

For me, this kind of lifestyle should be considered in depth and has long term plan that has been sketched in early stage.

However, although this kind of lifestyle and working through the internet can be lucrative, I believe we must still keep in mind the ethical side of it. Sometimes, we left this side at back while chasing lucrative and attractive returns of internet lifestyle.

Being your own boss is absolutely amazing. It’s something that I love doing and I’m glad I could start at a young age.

Being your own boss is definitely the dream of all wanna-be-making-money-online but as someone who ( was lucky enough ) to never ( for the last 9 years – since I finished high school :) ) have “a real job” I can tell you that being your own boss a lot of times takes more responsibility, time, work and stress then working for a boss.
Also many times you have to deal with clients and most of them are just as good as a “boss”
I’m not saying you shouldn’t do it, I’m just warning you that it’s not all like these “make money online easy be your own boss” posts promote it and don’t get scared if it’s not how they show it.

I agree man. There is times where I’ll be laying down watching T.V and I know I have a task I need to do, but since I have nobody up my ass to do yell at me to do it, it’s up to me to do it myself.

At first it was more of a struggle for me, but I think the longer you work at it the more easier it will be.

Interesting post.
I’ve been working for many, many years for ‘the man’. Even though I’m still very far from ‘making a living’ online, just knowing that each day I’m heading closer and closer to that type of independence, creates a tingle within my soul.

Achieving what you have, at your age is phenomenal, and really deserving of high praise. As an elder brother, the best advice I can offer right now is:

* Try to remain humble and grounded
* Constantly work on improving your knowledge and skills
* Seek to teach and guide those on the way up
* Always remember to practice gratitude as a way of life
Keep up the great work.

Thanks Kelwyn, I like the point you made “just knowing that each day I’m heading closer and closer to that type of independence, creates a tingle within my soul.” that’s real good you have that kind of motivation inside of you.

Financial freedom, it’s something that everyone wants but to be able to do it before the age of 65 is quite rare. You’re going to be at that point before you even hit your 20′s at the rate that you are going. That’s nuts. If only they taught this stuff in school, more people would have more control over their financial future.

Funny thing about it is, I never learned any of this in school. But the age of 65? Jeez where have I been lately. Well, in this economy I don’t think even people at the age of 65 are living oh-so comfortably either.

19 Residual Income January 27, 2010 at 4:34 am

Exactly. They don’t teach this stuff in school and that is precisely why most people end up broke at the age of 65. The internet has definitely opened up a lot of opportunities for millions of people. If only everyone knew how to take advantage of it.

Totally make sense. Kind of scary though, a person broke at 65? By then they need a wheel chair and medical bills to keep up with modern day, and they have to worry about buying food and paying the next light bill.

Hey Rob,

Glad you’re free from the 9-5. What every aspiring entrepreneur need to know is that the internet lifestyle initially requires a lot of preparation and work to set out and the success does not happen overnight. So, be prepared to work even harder than when you had the 9-5, but the greatest satisfaction is the fact that you own what you do and you will be making your millions in the future and not the company you work for.

Rob I absolutely agree with your list. You’re not alone, I’ve had thoughts where I wanted to slap my boss, I’m sure most people have, I mean let’s keep it real. More perks for working online is that you get to spend time with family and friends when you want to. Great post, look forward to more from you my friend!

My #1 reason for supporting the internet lifestyle is flexibility. There’s really nothing worse than someone telling you what to do and when to do it…leaving you with only a tiny amount of time to do what you want/need to do.

The internet life style is certainly our life sytle. Our entire real estate business is built around garner new customers through internet search. While other real estate agents are walking neighborhoods (farming) for new customers, or attending chamber of commerce events, we are working on blogging and our websites.

My eyes have been opened to other product ideas. At one point, all I seemed to be focused on were affiliates (not that they are bad; but not as much leverage there) because I got tired of creating my own products. But, with these ideas and others I learned from you, my eyes were opened as to how easy it really is to create your own products.

This is exactly why I got into blogging. I needed to be my own boss. I was tiered of the daily grind from 9 to 5 and your right my boss never let me off, and when they did they made me feel bad for it. I am just glad I got out when I did.
